Paris Trip Reports 2010 PART I CHAPTER 1 TITLE: HOME, AT LAST DATE: TUESDAY, APRIL 13, 2010 LOCATION: Rue Jean Nicot Apartment, Paris SUGGESTED iPOD MUSICAL ACCOMPANIMENT: “It’s My Life,” by Bon Jovi Every year when I stay in Paris for a couple of months, there is always some pop song that seems to get under my skin and eventually becomes forever emblematic and evocative of that particular year, whether I like it or not. When I was in Paris for a few months last year, that song was “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay, (better known as “When I Ruled The World”). Each time I turned on the stereo in my apartment, it seemed that this song was playing, often several times a day. Over the weeks, I listened to it passively as it was a rather catchy song.
